Grief Support

It is a very special time and is most important that the ceremony be such that it centers on the life of your loved one.

Arranging a Funeral Service.

Funerals as Unique as Your Life.

Life is full of opportunities to show someone we love them. Such a loving event celebrates the choices they made, the relationship you shared, and honour the memory of your loved one.

Honouring Life.

Honouring the achievements of your loved ones and celebrating the life you shared together are the cornerstones of healing after loss. It’s important to take the time to acknowledge the uniqueness of the deceased: the individuality of their personality, and the uniqueness of their path. Not just for them, but for you; it affirms the relationship, and leads to healing after loss. Honouring their life is truly an act of love – for the both of you.

It’s all about the Relationship.

Honouring the life of your loved one means you value the relationship and shared. We look forward to helping you decide how to celebrate that bond, and honour the unique individual you’ve lost. We can make suggestions to enhance your tribute ideas. Together we will create a fitting and memorable event.

Designing your Funeral.

There are two facets of the design process. First, we ask you to consider how you wish to honour and celebrate the life. When those important decisions are made, we’ll turn to the issue of how you wish to care for the physical remains.

How to Honour a Life.

It’s about bringing those you love together, at a time of loss. It’s a natural thing to do, and over time, has become a socially-expected practice. More importantly, a funeral or memorial serivce, whether traditional, or contemporary, it the first step in healing. You can have your service anywhere, and any way, you want. Your choices include the place of celebration, day of the week, and time of day; the musical selection, what prayers will be said or a photographic tribute. We’re here to help you create the most memorable and meaningful service to honour your loved one.

Burial or Cremation?

Your next consideration focuses on choosing between burial and cremation. Usually, people are clear on this point. In face, you loved one may have told you, or someone else, exactly how they wish to be cared for. But it can be a hard decision for some families, especially when the wishes for the deceased were never clearly stated. If that’s the case, please know we’re able to help you come to the perfect decision for your loved one, and for you. There are many aspects to be considered when arranging a funeral.

There are several options that you can choose from as to how the service is conducted:

We can assist with the following

=
Ask family or friends to act as pall bearers.
=
Allow close family members and friends to place a flower, piece of bush or soil on the coffin or into the grave.
=
Arrange to have a photograph of the deceased placed on or beside the coffin for the funeral/cremation service.
=
Arrange for clubs or various organisations ( of which the deceased was a member) to attend the service, perhaps forming a guard of honour.
=
Place treasured personal items into or on the coffin.

Pre-planning & Pre-paying Your Funeral

Information such as whether you wish to be buried or cremated, where you wish to be buried or where you wish your cremated remains be placed, whether you wish to have a church, chapel or graveside service, your favourite music these are just a few of the details which assist in the arrangement of a funeral. To make this as easy as possible, we have a Forward Planning form which allows you to make your wishes known, and also questions which assist in the filling of the necessary government paperwork for the registration of the death.
